Set Benchmarks for Social Media Success

How to Set Benchmarks for Your Social Media
It is difficult to know if your social media is working if you have nothing to compare it to. That is why setting benchmarks is so helpful. A benchmark is simply a starting point that you measure progress against.
For example, you might record how many bookings came from social media in one month. That number becomes your benchmark. Next month, you measure again to see if the number has gone up or down. The same can be done for engagement, follower growth, or rebookings.
Benchmarks stop you from feeling lost in endless statistics. They give you a clear baseline. You are no longer comparing yourself to other salons or chasing vanity metrics. Instead, you are comparing yourself to yourself and focusing on real growth.
Over time, benchmarks help you celebrate progress. Even small improvements are motivating. If you had two new clients from social last month and four this month, that is real growth.
Three steps you can take now
- Write down your current numbers for engagement, bookings, and followers.
- Use those numbers as your benchmark for the next month.
- Track progress over time and adjust your goals as you grow.
Benchmarks give you clarity and help you measure success on your own terms.
