More Pages Perform Better on Google

Let’s be honest, many salon websites are pretty bare-bones.

A homepage, a list of services, maybe a contact form… and that’s about it. But if you want your salon to rank on Google – not just for your name, but for the actual services you offer – you need more than a basic site.

In fact, the number (and type) of pages on your website can make the difference between showing up on page 1… or not at all.

Let’s explore why this matters – and what we do differently to help salons stand out in Google search.

The Typical Salon Website: Not Enough to Compete

Most salon websites have around 5 to 10 pages:

  • Home
  • Services (one general list)
  • About
  • Contact
  • A few photos
  • Maybe a team page

That’s fine for giving people a sense of who you are, but it’s not enough for Google to take you seriously – especially when potential clients are searching for specific services.

Think about it. Clients don’t search “hair salon” anymore. They search:

  • “BIAB nails Biggleswade”
  • “Balayage for brunettes Birmingham”
  • “Keratin smoothing treatment Maida Vale”
  • “Hollywood wax Taunton”

A single generic “Services” page can’t rank for all of those. But individual pages for each of those services can.

Our Strategy: One Page Per Service (and More)

Every salon we work with gets a content-rich website that includes:

  • ✅ A separate page for each treatment (e.g. Balayage, Full Head Colour, LVL Lashes, Swedish Massage)
  • ✅ A team member bio page for each stylist or therapist
  • ✅ Core pages like FAQs, Reviews, Contact, Online Booking
  • ✅ And a blog to support trending services and client questions

This means the average hair-only salon site has 50+ pages. Hair and beauty salons typically have 100+ pages – each one built around specific services your clients are actually searching for.

Why More Pages = More Visibility

Here’s what happens when your website has this kind of structure:

  • Google sees you as an authority. You’re not just listing treatments – you’re explaining them, answering questions, and giving clear booking options.
  • Each page targets a different keyword. That gives you more chances to show up in search.
  • Clients find exactly what they’re looking for. No need to click around or call to ask – it’s all right there.
  • Your pages match the exact words people type into Google. That’s huge for local SEO.

Put simply: the more relevant, helpful pages you have, the more Google trusts your site – and the more clients you attract.

Bonus: Each Page Boosts the Rest

The beauty of this strategy is that it creates a ripple effect.

When one page (say your “Balayage in Birmingham” page) starts performing well, it lifts your whole domain. Other pages benefit too – especially when they’re all connected through smart internal linking.

And because every page has a clear “Book Now” button or link to online booking, your site doesn’t just attract clicks – it converts them into appointments.

More pages only work if they’re done right. We’re not talking about stuffing your site with filler. Each page must be:

  • Written for humans (not just Google)
  • Focused on a specific treatment or topic
  • Genuinely useful to your ideal client
  • Easy to navigate, easy to book from

That’s the magic formula. And it’s how we help salons show up, stand out, and stay busy – all with a website that does the hard work for them.
