How Often Should Salons Post on Social Media?

Running a salon is busy. Between clients, team management, and keeping the business running smoothly, social media can easily slip to the bottom of the list. But posting regularly is one of the simplest ways to keep your salon visible online. The big question is, how often should you actually post?

The answer is that there’s no magic number that works for everyone. What matters most is finding a rhythm that you can stick to. For most salons, aiming for three to four posts a week is a realistic goal. This keeps your salon showing up in your clients’ feeds without overwhelming you or your audience.

Think of social media as a conversation with your community. If you post only once a month, it is like showing up at a party and saying one sentence before leaving. No one will remember you. But if you pop in regularly, share updates, and interact with people, they are far more likely to stay connected.

The good news is, you don’t need to reinvent the wheel each time. Simple posts like before-and-after photos, product recommendations, or quick tips are easy to create and often perform best.

Three steps you can take now

  1. Decide how many times a week you can realistically post and stick to it.
  2. Write down a list of easy content ideas you can reuse.
  3. Block out 30 minutes once a week to prepare your posts in advance.

Consistency, not perfection, is what helps your salon grow online.
